WRAA’s 9th ANNUAL TINY TREASURES EXHIBIT - COMPETITION - FUNDRAISER
Tiny Treasures are 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” pieces of original art, entirely new each year. They are exactly 2 ½ x 3 ½” with a depth of no more than 1”. They are free-floated in the mat so you DON’T want to leave a border – go all the way to the edge. If they’re larger, you run the risk of them not fitting in the mat. Send them unmatted and unframed. All Tiny Treasures are posted online at wraawrap.com, and also at the Pyle Center in Madison from August 17 until 1:00 on September 22. Almost all TTs will be available for purchase for $25. The sale begins August 1 and ends September 12. After that, they can be purchased on State Day weekend. All purchases can be picked up on September 22 between 1–3pm. For $25 you could have owned one of these amazing works of art - mounted and ready for framing. See "How Can I Purchase a Tiny Treasure?" for all the details!
This year's proceeds from the sale of Tiny Treasures will be used to to support WRAP.
Sixteen Tiny Treasures are chosen to be part of WRAA’s Timely Treasures Pocket Calendar. The cash prizes for the top 3 Tiny Treasures have been increased this year! 1st Place $150, 2nd Place $125 and 3rd Place $100. There is also a $25 award for most Creative Title. New this year is a $50 award for the art club/association with the most entries. 12 additional TTs are featured in WRAA’s 2019 Timely Treasures pocket calendar.
Due to the tremendous response in the past two years, if your Tiny Treasure didn't sell, in addition to the options of picking it up or having it mailed back to you, you also had the option of donating it to a non-profit.
Tiny Treasures must be of original concept and design. Please read the following article by Jean Lang, "Original or Copy."
WHAT IS EVENING WITH THE ARTS?
Friday night before the annual WRAP State Day, September 21, WRAA hosted a gala reception. Attendees enjoyed the art of WRAP’s statewide exhibition, STAMP’s teen artwork, the Tiny Treasures exhibition and hors-d’oeuvres while listening to lovely music and talking with artists. This year’s Evening With the Arts was Friday, September 21, at the Pyle Center, Madison, WI. For more information please click Evening With the Arts in the ACTIVITIES tab above.
There are also custom-made frames for sale at Evening with the Arts and on State Day. The frames are made especially for the Tiny Treasures and come complete with glass and hanging hardware.
