8th Annual, 2017 Tiny Treasures
Exhibition - Competition - Fundraiser!
Thanks to all of you for making 2017 another successful Tiny Treasures fundraiser and beautiful exhibition. Collectively you make an incredible artistic presence! The exhibition is available to view by clicking on the link below.
Tiny Treasures are 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” pieces of art made by WRAA members as well as non-members. They are submitted and exhibited on-line and then in an exhibition at the WRAA/WRAP State Exhibit and Conference (this year, 2017) in Wausau, WI in September. Sales of these wonderfully clever and beautiful works of art benefit the WRAA Publication Fund. Sixteen Tiny Treasures will be chosen to be included in the 2018 WRAP Timely Treasures pocket calendar that are mailed to WRAA members each year!
WRAP/WRAA State Art Exhibition and Conference
Each September, State Award winning artworks from WRAP Exhibitions around the state are exhibited at the WRAP State Art Exhibition. At the conclusion of the exhibition is the annual WRAA State Conference, "State Day."
2017 "State Day" was Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau, WI.

Description of Awards given at "State Day"
Each September at the WRAP/WRAA State Art Conference, “State Day” Awards Ceremony, awards are presented for meritorious artwork in the WRAP exhibit. In addition, service awards and awards for the Contour Notes cover contest are also given, including the John Steuart Curry medal, our most prestigious award for service to WRAA and the arts. It’s a great honor to receive these awards.
These awards are made possible by contributions from individuals and organizations throughout the state of Wisconsin and beyond, some of whom have sponsored awards for many years going back to as early as the 1960’s. These awards were created to recognize the achievements of participating artists. Many are memorial awards honoring a family member or friend who shared a special love of the arts. Some are given for excellence in a specific medium or craft while others are open to all media. The sponsors have the option to select the recipient themselves (and some do) otherwise the judge of the show selects the award winner. Recipients must be a current member of WRAA to receive awards.
Thank you to all of our award sponsors whose generosity provides so much encouragement to WRAP artists and keeps our State Day vibrant and strong.
